- During the Council the adoption of an internal security strategy for the European Union will be debated, as will the creation of the permanent internal security committee (COSI). Among others, issues related to protecting external borders, modifying the Frontex regulation and combating illegal immigration and drug-trafficking will also be addressed.

- Mr Pérez Rubalcaba will give a press conference at approximately 13:00. The minister will talk to the media again after the sessions, at around 17:00.
